  1. What payment methods are accepted?
    Payment is strictly on a cashless basis. Supported methods include:
    a. Touch ‘n Go Card
    b. Touch ‘n Go RFID
    c. Mastercard/Visa debit or credit cards

  2. Can I top up my Touch ‘n Go Card at the Road Charge Station?
    No, there is no top-up service available at the Road Charge Station. Users must ensure their selected payment method has sufficient funds or credit before entering.

  3. What happens if I fail to pay the road charges?
    LCSB may, at their sole and absolute discretion take any of the following actions:
    a. Refuse or disallow entry or usage of the Road and/or any properties of RWG
    b. Stop, turn away, clamp, tow or impound vehicles
    c. Impose charges or fees (including administrative, removal, storage and release fees)
    d. Withhold future access of the vehicle
    e. Undertake any other actions deemed fit

  4. Can I get a refund if I was overcharged?
    All Road Charges are strictly non-refundable, except where LCSB determines that a system error or incorrect charge has occurred. Any request must be submitted through official channels with supporting documents and is subject to verification and approval.

  5. Are there any vehicles that are prohibited from using the road?
    Yes. Heavy goods vehicles above 8 tonnes (with load) are prohibited during:
    a. Daily between 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM
    b. All day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
    c. National and selected State Public Holidays

  6. Who is eligible for Preferential Rate?
    The Preferential Rate is exclusively for qualified residents of Genting Highlands:
    a. Individuals aged 18 and above who own or rent a Residential Unit
    b. Corporates that own or rent a Residential Unit

  7. What qualifies as a “Residential Unit”?
    A Residential Unit is a dwelling officially recognized as residential property with a Genting Highlands address. Commercial premises are excluded.

  8. How do I apply for Preferential Rate?
    Applications can be submitted online via LCSB’s website or through other designated processes, with all required supporting documents.

  9. How many vehicles can be registered per Residential Unit?
    Each Residential Unit may register two (2) Class 1 vehicles only.

  10. What documents are required for Preferential Rate application?
    For Property Owners:
    a. Proof of Ownership (quit rent, assessment bill, SPA, etc.)
    b. Vehicle Registration Card
    c. Latest Electricity Bill (GUSSB or TNB)

    For Tenants:
    a. Owner’s proof of ownership
    b. Tenant’s vehicle registration card
    c. Tenant’s latest electricity bill
    d. Valid Tenancy Agreement

  11. I am a tenant; can I apply directly?
    No. The property owner must complete the application on behalf of the tenant.

  12. Are motorcycles eligible for the preferential rate?
    No. Motorcycles are not subject to road charges.

  13. How long does it take for my application to be approved?
    LCSB requires five (5) working days to process applications, renewals, or updates to the application.

  14. How can I check the status of my application?
    Applicants will be notified via email, text message, or other communication channels. You may also contact LCSB to enquire.

  15. Does the Preferential Rate Approval expire?
    Yes. All approvals expire on 31st December of the relevant calendar year regardless of issuance date.

  16. Is renewal of the Preferential Rate automatic?
    No. Renewal must be submitted within the period set by LCSB.

  17. What should I do if I sell my car or change my information?
    You must immediately update LCSB with any changes to your information or supporting documents.

  18. How does the Registered Vehicle enjoy the Preferential Rate at the Road Charge Station?
    The Registered Vehicle must use the designated LPR lane(s). The number plate must be clearly visible and not obstructed or modified in any way that affects detection.

  19. What happens if my number plate cannot be detected by the LPR system?
    Full prevailing road charges will apply. No appeals or refunds will be entertained.

  20. What are the obligations of the Permitted Road Users?
    Permitted Road Users must comply with:
    a. Road Transport Act 1987 and all related regulations
    b. Speed limits and traffic rules
    c. All signage, directions, and road conditions

  21. What happens if I violate the Genting Road Rules & Regulations?
    Security personnel may refuse entry, disallow usage, evict users, and LCSB may take legal action including private prosecution.

  22. Who is responsible for the cost of repairing any damaged road property?
    Permitted Road Users shall indemnify LCSB and related parties against all losses, damages, claims, and legal expenses arising from misuse, negligence, or breach of regulations.

Road Charges

All permitted road users, other than exempted categories listed below, shall be required to pay the applicable road charge upon entry into Jalan Genting Highlands.

Payment will be collected at the following locations: -

  1. Genting Highlands Entry at Genting Sempah
  2. Gohtong Jaya Entry at the Gohtong Jaya roundabout

*Vehicles under Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 are required to enter via the “Lorong Khas” lanes or Licence Plate Recognition (“LPR”).

Categories of Exempted and Registered Vehicles

Certain categories of vehicles have been identified for exemption from road charges and/or registration with LCSB. These categories are determined based on essential operational needs, public service considerations, and resident eligibility: (To use the existing definition provided here)
